The Commission helps secure stable funding for legal service providers so that they have the resources and staff necessary to serve the legal needs of low-income Texans. In addition to our work advocating for state and federal funding, the Commission raises funds with the help of the legal community and the general public.

So far this year, there are more than 340 Champion of Justice Society members. In 2018, Society members contributed more than $150,000 in support of access to justice, with Guardian members ensuring deferred revenue for future years to support legal aid. Together, these Champions of Justice fund the equivalent of more than three full-time legal aid staff attorneys. Once a year, as part of dues renewal with the State Bar of Texas, we ask Texas attorneys to donate $150 to the Justice for All Campaign. The 2018 Justice for All Campaign raised more than $1.3 million from 8 percent of licensed Texas attorneys. If every Texas attorney gave the suggested $150, giving would total nearly $15 million.
