TATJC is pleased to join with all nine Texas law schools to sponsor the fourth year of the Access to Justice Internship Program. This unique program places students in summer academic internships with civil legal service providers across Texas located outside communities with law schools. The goals are to encourage more students to help address the legal problems of underserved individuals and communities and to educate future attorneys about those problems. This summer twenty-seven students (three from each Texas law school) will intern in the offices of Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, Lone Star Legal Aid, Texas Civil Rights Project, and Texas RioGrande Legal Aid. The program incorporates both fieldwork and an academic component. A stipend will be provided to every student, and academic credit may also be available. * Program Description for Summer 2009 * Student Application Information * Student/Placement Assignments (as of 2/5/09) - No assignments made to date Prior Years: Press - Second Year of ATJ Internships an "Exceptional Success" Texas Lawyers Care - LegalFront Summer 2007 (Vol. 8, No. 3) - Bestselling Author John Grisham Donates $20,000 to Internship Program Texas Lawyer, Opinion, May 28, 2007
