Student Application Information

An interested student should speak to the contact person at his or her law school about application procedures, deadlines, and the availability of academic credit.  Tuition and credit arrangements are left to each law school.

A stipend of $250/week will be provided by the Texas Access to Justice Commission to every student for a minimum of seven weeks and a maximum of ten weeks of work.  Each student is required to work for at least seven weeks, and students are strongly encouraged to work as long as possible.  Students are asked to commit to the length of their internship period at the time of application.

The summer stipends are funded through generous support from the Texas Legal Protection Plan and the Texas Bar Foundation.

Each law school must select its three student participants by March 26, 2008, but schools should make decisions as soon as possible to facilitate the placement process.  Students will be assigned to placements on a rolling basis.  Student preferences for placement locations will be accommodated if possible, and the list of available placements will be regularly updated.
