FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TEXAS ACCESS TO JUSTICE COMMISSION PRESENTS Profiscience Partners Donates Learning Management System to Streamline Training Program AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Access to Justice Commission’s Technology Committee is sponsoring a free Technology Training Series for legal aid providers in Texas. The seminars, offered from May through August in Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, Lubbock and San Antonio, include vital training on how to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel to maximize productivity, thereby allowing advocates to more efficiently serve clients. The Texas Access to Justice Commission’s Technology Committee, composed of the chief information officers of leading law firms, created the Technology Training Series, now in its second year. The series is made possible through the generosity of the following law firms: Andrews Kurth LLP, Baker Botts LLP, Bracewell Giuliani LLP, Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, and Vinson & Elkins LLP, who are hosting the seminars and providing the training. Profiscience Partners has donated access to UniversitySite, a Web-based learning management system that provides administrative support for the training program, including the scheduling of events, registration and attendance tracking. Michael Barshinger, president and CEO of the company, noted, “Leading U.S. law firms have implemented UniversitySite as part of a strategic initiative to improve employee skills and expertise, so we are very pleased to provide this platform for the Commission’s Technology Training Series.” For more information about the Technology Training Series, please contact Erica Anderson at 512.320.0099, ext. 103. -30- The Texas Access to Justice Commission (www.TexasATJ.org) was created in 2001 by the Supreme Court of Texas to develop and implement policy initiatives designed to expand access to and enhance the quality of justice in civil legal matters for low-income Texans.
